Belfast City to Junction One

Hi,

Myself and my boyfriend are heading to Belfast in April and are hoping to head to Junction One shopping area, which is in Antrim.

Just wondering: would it cost much in a taxi? I'm guessing because it is a 30min drive, it would cost a bit.

Are there any buses/trains we could get? Would they be expensive?

All help appreciated.

Getting a taxi from Belfast would be nuts. The shopping centre is close to Antrim town centre, the town bus service passes through it although it is not very frequent.

There are hourly buses and slightly less frequent trains from Belfast to Antrim both depart from Europa/Great Victoria Street.

We are looking at getting the train, it's £7.80 for an adult day return and doesn't seem to take long (around thirty minutes according to the timetable).

Would we have far to go from Antrim train station to Junction One shopping outlet?

Why do you want to go to Junction one?


Was in it just before Christmas. (Originally from a town 20 mins away from it).

Compared to my previous visit in September, I found that had gone down in standards. Think I counted 8 or 9 shops which had closed.

Most shops that are still open will have outlets in Belfast also.

Originally from Antrim, but living in Kildare. Junction One is rubbish, always amazes me how many southern reg cars are there....... waste of time, save yourself the trip

We'd like to go and experience it for ourselves to be honest, also it'd be nice to get outside the city for a few hours/a day.

Would we have far to go from Antrim train station to Junction One? Is it walkable or would we need a taxi?

Also - neither of us drive, so we rely on public transport.

Get the ulsterbus goldline service from europa bus centre to ballymena,( i think it is route 200), it stop is Antim station and the next stop after is outside Junction one.
The fare should be around 6 or 7 pound return and will take about 30 minutes each direction.

Junction one would be about 2 miles from the station in Antrim.

A taxi would cost in the region of £25 each way.

Get the Enterprise train from Dublin Connolly to Belfast Central Station then take a train to Antrim from the same staion.

Junction one is less than 5 minutes drive in taxi from Antrim station.

PeteEd explained the buses option well. Depends on budget though. If your times are flexible Irishrail.ie online booking offers decent discount prices.
