My MacBook screen keeps going off but I can still see the desktop, am I right in saying it could be the inverter, if I turn down the brightness fully then turn it back up a little bit it comes back on again for about ten minutes, any ideas what it may be

    Mine is doing the same

Am going try and do an SMC Reset, as this is one thing that the System Management Controller does

1 - Shut down the computer.
2 - Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
    3 - Remove the battery.
4 - Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
5 - Release the power button.
6 - Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
7 - Press the power button to turn on the computer

Am also doing a back-up...just in case

    DT

I had the same issue, needed a new screen. As far as i know the inverter works or it doesnt. Tried loads of things before i splashed out on a new screen but nothing worked.
