Problem with apps.

I got a 4S today and downloaded a bunch of apps. After syncing my songs onto it none of the apps will open. The icon just flickers and then nothing. Anyone know what's going on. It started with only a few and now it's all of them. I know it's something to do with the device forgetting your password or something and downloading a new app will fix it but surely I don't have to do this every time?

OK it seems this is a common problem but since I can't close the thread I might as well answer my own question for any iPhone newbies such as myself. I didn't think it was a well known issue because before buying the iPhone I checked loads of sites highlighting the pros and cons between iOS and Google and it wasn't listed amongst the cons.

Simply put it's an authentication problem. Once the phone is left idle for a certain period of time the authorisation on app access expires. The problem is there is no facility that prompts you to re-enter your Apple password. The only fix at the moment is to download any free app and that will prompt you to reauthorise giving you access to the rest of your apps.

It seems this is a long running problem with iPhone that Apple for some reason have decided not to fix.

Weird. Never heard of nor experienced this problem myself.

Came across it way back, but only happened to me the once. Similar to these sods....here, scroll down thru the page for similar instances. There was a thread on macrumours also at the time, IIRC.

Well that's the thing. I never heard of it either until I bought the phone. Then I said it to my sister and she said the same, then my friend told me she had the same issue both of them as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Have a look at all the people who replied to this:

It hasn't happened since to be fair but then again I use it a lot so we'll see.
