    Hi all ,

my 04 mondeo just failed the nct for worn anti roll bar and links . and also rear suspension imbalance on one side (34% limit is 30%) . Anyone know if its gonna be an expensive job ? I'm half thinking of changing it anyway as its got 125000mls on the clock and drinks petrol . just wondering about the trade in value ....if any . any advice guys ??

    Rear ARB links and bushes?

Rear links around €18 each, rear ARB bushes around €8 each. Fitting costs on those will depend on whether or not the ARB bush clamp bolts come out or snap off. They often snap off which means extra cost as they will then have to be drilled out etc. If everything goes smoothly then €50 should cover fitting, it not then allow an extra €50.

A new rear shock is around €65 I think. Ideally you should replace both but you will probably get away with replacing one depending on the readings on the report sheet. About €50 for fitting. Another possible cause of the rear suspension imbalance is a broken rear spring. That would usually be picked up by the NCT but sometimes they slip through. They are €55 + VAT and the same cost to fit as a rear shock.
