New hardtail MTB suggestions?

My BTW scheme has come around and I've decided to upgrade my mountain bike, nothing wrong with my current Giant Terrago Disc it just seems a shame not to take advantage of the scheme while I can. So whats the best hardtail mountain bike I can get for €1000 from a Dublin based shop, or neighbouring counties? Chainreaction Cycles aren't covered by my employer so no point looking there

As usual I'd like to keep it at €1000 or not much higher and I don't care if it's last years model. The shop has to be listed on the BikeToWork list of shops

meh most 1000 euro hardtails will be very similar, most important thing for them to have is at least a rock shox recon fork, some sort of decent hydraulic brakes, and a decent groupset (sram x7/x9 or shimano slx/xt)

Anything particular in mind? The Cube Ltd looks reasonable, what about a Trek 6500?
