Hi, Can anyone please offer some advice...

We have a zoned heated house - one zone for upstairs, one for downstairs and one for the water.

I tried a few hours ago to turn on the zone for downstairs but it is not turning on, the other zones are working fine.

Have checked the pressure which is at 1.5bar and have tried to reset the boiler controls.

Can anyone offer any advice... getting cold here!!

    Thanks...

Possibly the motorised valve actuator for this zone is broken , if can identify which one it is you can usualy slide it from auto to manual to give you heat but remembrr to slide it back to turn the heat off , or you can remove the head completly and manually turn the brass body open to allow this zone to heat with the other zones , remember this advice is only to get you out of a hole until you get a plumber and should not be left this way permantly

If you have a room stat, check it.

If its not your wall stat or stat. Check your pump is not stuck for that zone. When a zone has not been used for a while sometimes the pump seizes.
I do see a lot of leaks on the cheap pump ball valves because of this.So dont go messing with the pump valves.Remove the silver round part in the center of the pump with a hexagon head when with the heating sysyem off. Try Loosen the inside with a screw driver and put the silver part back on.

Sullzz - your a legend - worked a treat! and thanks to everyone else for their advice...

Now, does anyone know where i can now get a Sunvic motorised valve actuator SZ 2401?

It is probably fairly straight forward to swap out?

I would risk doing it yourself call someone.

Why Pegasus Galactica - its a sealed unit - just need to connect the wires?

heat merchants or chadwicks plumb centre should have them...

Dpl or heatmerchants , its just the actuator your looking for .
If doing it yourself remember what wires go where and turn the spur switch off for the heating as there will be a permanent live . if you dont feel confident get someone in to fo it.

We also have a zoned heated house - upstairs, downstairs and water. Was working fine for last 4 years. Last year we got a problem. If I turn on downstairs, works fine, if I turn on upstairs, works fine. However if I turn on the water the rads upstairs also come on. Have a Horstmann controller to turn them on.

Is this only a new problem? and are they all 2-port valves?

Try turning on the downstairs zone and see if the upstairs comes on with it.

Motorised valve could be passing or acctuator could be faulty
