Rooting Kernel

I was looking at rooting and it says I need a version of the kernel thats on my phone.

Using this guide

I looked and none of them match my kernel

2.6.35.7-I9100XWKI8-CL616395 root@DELL149 #2

Any ideas.

I did root my Desire a few years ago but only once :rolleyes: and cannt remember how i did it.

Flashing ROMs I find easy though.

Go to Settings -> About phone -> Kernel Version. Note the string present there:

2.6.35.7-I9100XXKG1-CL349526

What matters most (KG1) in this case, is in bold. Try to find the matching file under downloads:

CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG1-v4.1-CWM4.zip

So I'd say its the KI8 in this post you need

Some roms will root the phone for you anyways if you intend to flash them anyways, I remember Litening Rom took care of all that for me when I did it.
