Font problem on macbook pro

Hey, my friend asked me to look into a problem they are having with fonts on their Macbook Pro running OS X Lion.
They are creating a web site but it does not look right on their macbook.
Fonts that should be arial plain are displayed in bold.

Everything looks fine on my windows 7,iphone,android phone
So I figured it was something to do with the way os x lion renders fonts.
I do not own a mac so I ran Lion in vmware but the fonts on the website looked fine when I did that. The browser used makes no difference
I was unsure if I should post here or on a web development forum but it seems like it is a problem with this particular version of OS X rather then a problem with the web code.
I have cleared the font cache on the mac and also looked for font duplicates in font book.
Can someone check the site on their macbook and let me know how it looks
And if anyone has some idea what's going wrong please let me know.
It's weird because it seems all other sites viewed on the same macbook look normal.

    The website is http://www.privatetherapyclinic.com/

    And I have attached pics.
Pic 1 is running on the Mac with the problem
Pic 2 is it on my windows laptop and is how the website should look.

Not at my Mac at the moment, but it looks like anti-aliasing to me, which is a normal part of how the system renders fonts. You can tinker with it using Terminal commands, but it can't be turned off completely.

If anti-aliasing was the problem would I not have the same problem in os x running in vmware?
If someone with a mac has a free minute can they open the page and let me know how it looks?

It looks the same on my Mac as in the first (Mac) picture. It's anti-aliasing.

As for why you can't see this in VMWare, I don't know. Virtual machines probably don't do anti-aliasing by default.

Thanks for your help. The site will probably have to be redesigned if that's what it looks like on mac.
