Nursing degree, list of preferences.

    I am trying to decide the order of my preferences for psychiatric nursing degrees. Is it common to secure employment while on placements during the course?
    The reason I ask is that I'd like to know if studying in the location I intend to live/work in the future would increase my chances of getting a job there on completion of the course.
    Does anyone have any experience of this?
