setting up email with own domain - help??

Apologies if this mail sounds totally untechnical, but does anyone know of any provider that I can set up myname@mydomain.net email addresses from easy enough? I own a domain and want to set up emails against it (NOT by Outlook or Netscape but more of a webmail style), but the way its set up, I bought the domain name itself from a UK provider called Freeola and the website for it is hosted by Irishwebservers (was much cheaper to host upon better inspection/homework, d'oh) so as the DNS is not pointed at Freeola they wont let me set up any email address using the domain on their site/using their email service.. which is a pain as I don’t think we can do anything about the DNS too easy.



Can I go to any email provider and use the domain, even if it wasn't purchased from them? ANd if I can, any suggestions??

If you want to host the emails/store on your server SquirrelMail is one way of doing it!

It should be easy enough to do with google apps. You will need to have the ability to change the MX record with your host to point to google, but that shouldn't be a problem. Certainly easy enough to do with Blacknight.
