Connecting Saorview and SKy+ to TV

Just wondering what is the best way to connect the above, I have at present Soarview cable connected into aerial input at back of tv, and sky+ connected via scart to TV. have to change between TV and Scart option on TV each time. there is a lag and jumping of picture when I do this.

I connected the Saorview cable into back of Sky+ box, hoping to access channels via skybox and scart connection but cannot pick up Saorview channels on TV with this method.

It is a Walker Saorview approved TV

    Thanks

The TV is saorview which means it receives the saorview signal via the aerial, the sky+ signal is going to the tv via the scart.
That's the way it has to be-you want to watch saorview then you need to select the tv option on the remote.Plugging the aerial into the skybox won't make a difference.

If you have Sky why do you need to watch saorview? I only use it for sport on RTE2hd.

My setup is the same,HD box via HDMI and Saorview via aerial into the tv. I need to select tv on the source list to view saorview. No way around it I'm afraid.

"If you have Sky why do you need to watch saorview? I only use it for sport on RTE2hd".

Didn't install especially, had correct aerial and compatible TV, same here just watch sport, missus watches some of the american dramas like desperate housewives which are now shown in HD.

    Thanks for reply

You do realise that by using SCART you are not actually seeing HD? You need to use HDMI cables for HD.

    Just to clarift Gerry's remark.

If you connect the Sky box to the TV using a fat SCART lead instead of the thin HDMI lead (pink connector on newer boxes) then any HD programmes on Sky (such as BBC HD CH143) will not be as good a quality as it could be.

This assumes you have a HD Sky box and a HD subscription although even without the subscription the channels can be slightly clearer and BBCHD does not requie a subscription as far as I know.

    I only own a standard sky+ box,
