How Can Sutil be tried in German for an offence committed in China ?

    Slightly off topic, but does anyone here know how Can Sutil be tried in German for an offence committed in China ?

    Im very confused by this. Surely he should have been tried in China ?

    Because Chinas human rights record is a disgrace theres no way a high profile westerner like Sutil would be tried there, if he was he'd probably be jailed for life or killed by a firing squad.

    If theres 1 thing that China is smart at its making money from buisness's in the west, and to have high profile westerners like Sutil in prison there would be bad for buisness, which is why Bernie and chinese officials quickly got that spat transferred out of there.

    That would be my guess.

    I think France claim jurisdiction for any crime committed against a French citizen anywhere in the world, could be along those kind of lines or else an arbitration-type court or something.

    It was announced on twitter today that Sutil was handed 18-month suspended sentence, but alot of people are saying that CCTV clearly showed the other guy attacked first and Adrian just tried to push him away. Who knows!
