Xtravision had Sony Bluray players for€ 89 last time I was in which from what I could make out could be used for streaming from the likes of Netflix too. I know I'd buy Sony before Tecnika.

Sony BR Players do not play netflix. I have the BDP S-185 and it is some load of useless plastic.
All that is on it is the watered down version of youtube and Sky News headline loop.
There is a video option there about technology and I am not joking, the "most recent" button brings up stuff from 2009. It is a dire player and I would stay well away Sony players until Sony update them.

I know nothing of their internet TVs or PS3s which I believe are different.

Was in my local Currys while ago, and they were clearing Philips Bluray players for either €39 or €49. Think it was €39. The 3000 series or something.

Too lazy to start my own thread!:o

The lack of "apps" isn't to do with Sony but the copyright restrictions put in place by their holders.

Netflix is only launched in the last couple of weeks so no matter how much you had spent on a blu ray player you still wouldn't have had access to it.
