Like the title says, just wondering if anyone owns a VW Tiguan?

If so, would love to hear some feedback - are you happy with it, any issues etc?

They seem to be in short supply 2nd hand, don't know if that's a good or a bad thing.

    ...it's neither a Good or Bad thing - it's a Money thing.

a.k.a..........the Economy. No-one buys new, there's none secondhand. And people buying new, now, in this climate, are holding on to them for much longer.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Just some feedback I heard from a VW dealer...
    • 2nd hand these are in big demand. Most will be gone within a few days of advertising, generally with several interested parties (hence little discounting required by dealers). Carzone.ie would seem to support this.
    • New 'facelifted' models since August 2012.
    • Presently takes 10 weeks if ordering from new.
    • Dealers are starting to ring existing Tiguan customers to see if they will trade up, as there is a ready demand for the 2nd hand model (but as galway tt says, most are holding on).
    • Good price reductions inbuilt into latest New retail prices, especially compared to Ford Kuga. But expect less showroom discounting as a result.
    • Most VW dealers don't have Tiguan demo models, as they already sold them. Expect that to change in the next 3 months.
I know a Tiguan owner who raves about it. Very very happy.

Girlfriends dad has one, €34k worth, but it's 2WD (TDI 140)

Bit too Golf-ey for my liking

Bears more than a passing resemblance to a Golf Plus.

He got his ex stock by the way.

They seem quite popular second hand alright, I had a spin in one a while back, nice car like drive and a bit of extra space.not enough in my opinion and they seem a bit pointless to me, just not enough extra space. So unless going for the 4wd I wouldn't bother.

The new Toureg looks very nice though, they've managed to tidy up the looks so it doesn't look too high off the ground, more like a big estate. Very well done, they will sell well to anyone who can afford one, which hopefully will be a fair few.

Thanks everyone - great information here.

It matches what I'm finding - very hard to get hold of a demo and good 2nd hands are being snapped up. But I didn't realise they were €45k in 08!
