    Hi guys,

I have an occasion coming up where I would like to get my other half a hine cinema projector.

I'm a newbie to all this stuff but currently he has a hd tv hooked up to UPC digital box hooked up to a ps3 hooked up to a sony Sound system.

I was thinking if he could hook the ps3 up to the projector and play it on a big screen it might be an ideal gift.

He is fairly fussy about he quality of his viewing so would want something pretty good picture wise.

I was hoping to get something for under 600 if possible so if anyone could advise I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Saz

    Hi

These are three optoma models I have considered. Over your budget... but if he likes quality...

    > 1 gt 750 3d This is 3d but not full 1080p (still quality for 3d though). gives you a 120 inch screen roughly 6 feet from the wall. Suitable for daylight viewing. If he plays the ps3 more so than anything else this may be the way to go especially with the 3d capable ps3.

    > 2 Hd 600x lv This is 720p. It is 3d capable but you have to buy a £200 add on if you want to go down the 3d route in the future. They seem a fairly popular projector. gives you a 100 inch screen roughly 11 feet from the screen.

    > 3 HD 200x this is 1080p (full hd) I have seen this in action and is the one I would recommend highly. For me I would rather have picture quality over 3d. gives you a 100 inch screen roughly 11 feet away. Between a balance of watching tv, ps3 and watching dvds, I dont think you can beat it. :)

Thats my view anyway I'm sure there are other viable projectors out there but I came across these at avforums and people recommend the Optoma brand.

That LED one looks very nice.
    Native Resolution: 1280*768 Support 1080P

Does this mean though it is not full HD.. Minimum native resolution needs to be = 1920×1080

    Otherwise appears resonable.

That seems to be the case ;)
