I am thinking of doing a final year project on doubly fed induction generators fault ride through and have read up a small bit about it. Does any one know much about this subject and is there much in to the matlab simlink part.

Im assuming that your going to have to write about how the connection of a wind turbine contributes to fault current. As well as the differences between fault current contributions from induction and synchronous generators.

Fault ride through will be stipulated in the contractual agreement between the grid and the wind turbine owner. Its also regulated as stipulated by the grid codes.

Dunno about using Mathlab but I would think PSCAD would be better program of choice since it is used in industry.

There's an Eirgrid chap giving a talk on something similar next week in the Alexander hotel. Check out the iet for details.
he might be worth having a chat with to find out more.
