Zinc sulphate is the recommended alternative or formalin but I think the results are better with the copper sulphate. Be careful disposing of the used water if near waterways it's highly toxic to fish.

I have never heard of anyone dose cattle with Bluestone 'Copper Sulphate'.

What does it do. Does it do worms and/or fluke?

you get a spoon of bluestone and mix it with water shake it up and put it down the neck. I'm not sure if it does fluke but it does do fluke

If you dose cattle with Bluestone/Copper Sulphate it will not kill Fluke they will however be inactive in Liver so yoy would have to give it to them every week. I saw a fellow get Molasses mixed bluestone with hot water (powder not granluar crystals) mix them and feed it to cattle every week 1/4 T-Spoon per head make sure no sheep as they will go feet up. He did it in the fall of the year it was a bit of work

You'd have a clean trough with no algae but your cattle would still have worms.

I'd say worms would be the least of their worries , it's six and half years since the thread was active,
