Can anyone challenge the Nepalese domination of marathon running?

It must have been really difficult running on the Earth, with all that gravity.

If a plane was on a treadmill, going at the same speed as the plane in the opposite direction, but the plane was in zero gravity...

Is running in shoes the new barefoot running?
Irish Marathon Olympic hopefuls fail in attempt to break the 2:05 'C' qualifying standard as temperatures soar to 35 degrees at Annacurra's Olympic trials.

Getting a bike on the Virgin Galactic flight for the Mars half ironman- do excess rates apply? How many yuan per kilo? Or can I hire a Cervelo P90 there?

Anyone know of a good venue in South Dublin for my 81st birthday? All the pubs want to charge extra for nursing staff.

Edit - Just noticed that thread is gone, so this makes no sense now!

I'll reopen my training log for the 72nd time...

Ireland's 4x100m relay team, consisting of Precious Okodogbe, Sunday Okobare, Innocent Egbunike Jr (the 33rd) and Prince Elukunde, sets a new NR.

All club subscriptions will be paid directly to the Minister for Obesity's special advisor.

The National Indoor Championships will again take place in Ireland's only indoor stadium, Nenagh, despite record low temperatures. Nenagh Olympic officials are pleading with local fans to bring along some form of portable heating...

Why does the Ballycotton 16.09k still insist on archaic online entry only while most other races have been doing telepathy for years?

I just had calf replacement surgery today - is it ok to run this afternoon or will the recovery take until tomorrow...

Punters have devised methods of altering the digital track lines of a stadium in realtime undetected. Bringing the finish line of the 100m forth 2 meters so the favourite will dip early and extending the lines in the bends by a few meters to control heats.

The Olympics games are hosted on Venus this year and Ryanairspace charge fees by the gramme. The Ryanairspace only helmet fee is also charge by the gramme. Madonna is the opening ceremony entertainment for the games, again

Jamaica will return to using the standard 4 relay runners for these games as Jegdalanian Bolt Junior plans to attack the Nepalese domination of Marathon running

The swim leg of triathlon is underwater as Ryanairmedical will not insure against the threat of venetian crows

2hrs will long have been broken for the marathon, as genetic engineering will see super athletes develop with significantly more type 1 fibres and less type 2 fibres

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,100 ✭✭✭BobMac104

I dont think genetic engineering is necessary to break 2 hours!

I was running in yesterday's London Marathon Virtual 21km Official Qualifier(TM) around my local gym and everything was going great. No bother at all from my two new hips and knees.

Then just after half way my Garmin 9000sux disconnected from the RaceLinkEurope satellite and refused to find any other satellites no matter what I did

Now the organisers the have me down as a DNF and when I went to sync my Garmin it did an auto-update and deleted my entire race so no appeals possible. Bloody expensive qualifier too at 1000 British D.Marks.

Gutted as looking at the results I only needed to finish in the top 90,000 to qualify for my M75 spot.

Anyone else having satellite problems with the 9000sux? I had my 8500z+ for 4 years and it was a great but the new one is a piece of s****.

In Olympic news, there are plans to introduce new elements to the track and field programme in order to drive up TV audiences. Two of the events that will undergo a change is the women's high jump which will be upgraded to synchronised women's high jumping. A group of 3 male judges will closely scrutinise the women's technique as they clear the bar and award marks for style. Also, the women's pole vault will revert to women's pole dancing again with male judges awarding marks for performance. It is thought that these events have been drafted at the behest of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Jr. who also suggested that there be an upper age limit of 21 years of age.
In other news, there is widespread disappointment as the long jump and triple jump had to be cancelled as due to the ongoing recession, the sand-pits will not be filled. This is a blow for the beach volleyball, which was also scheduled to take place in the long jump pit. This has sparked fury amongst the international delegations who now regret not awarding the Games to the South Pole where there is plenty of sand on the go!!

Won't be a lot of racing going on as we know it now as the world is recovering from WWIII and the Earth is left devastated by the nuclear carnage* which leads the mass public turning to The running man game show where longer is consider better

General population of ART keep congratulating each other on completing the long distance event of walking up the stairs without using the stairlift.

12345 pipes up that we are probably all more suited to the shorter events, such as getting out of a chair unaided or walking to the kitchen to put the kettle on without using the zimmer frame, and all this talk of endurance events needs to be better balanced with talk of the shorter events.

PaullBradyy wins Olympic 400m in world record time.
A latecomer to the sport, he was initially derided as untruthful, however he eventually joined Toogoodtobetrue AC in 2012, broke the Irish record in May, the European record while winning the Euro champs in July and the world record when running 39.99 in the Olympic final in August.
