    Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone knows if these 3 items might possibly be worth anything?
They have been sitting in my house for quite a while now, so thought I would find out once and for all.

    Thanks a million!

I have some coins also that I am interested in getting valued, so will post them in the coin thread.

    Thanks in advance!

Very little I'm afraid but Degsy will be along soon and give you a better idea no doubt. :)

    Doh!

Fingers crossed he has better news!

I was under the impression the ceramic pottery items were quite old (someone mentioned vikings!) but maybe I was gullible :)

The ceramic inkwell and bottle would probably be Victorian rather than Viking. :D

The bottle are commonly known as torpedo or Hamilton bottles although I believe that's not the correct name. The last episode of Mud Men on the History channel featured these.Have a look on ebay again as there is some listed varying in price starting at around five euro upwards.Degsy would be the man to best answer any queries you may have. Here is a small bit of background info on them from an ebay guide.

A "penny ink" bottle,a ginger beer bottle and a Hamilton mineral water bottle.:)

As has been said they probably date from victorian times or slightly later with the Hamilton bottle probably from around 1900 as it has no pontil.

Pricewise..maybe a euro for the ink,two for the ginger beer and possibly a fiver for the hamilton, assuming it has no "sickness",chips or cracks.

Its worth noting that in nearly all cases with bottles, any that bear Irish logos or companies will be worth more than the english equivilent.
