Myself and a gang of college mates are thinking of spending around six weeks over yonder and were wondering whether there were many must-see locations or activities that we could experience. Our plan thus far is to fly to Kuala Lumpur in order to visit a college mate who lives there and then maybe venture to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos over the course of the next six weeks. Has anyone had any similar experience? Any pitfalls we should avoid or information that could come in use to us?

6 weeks is pretty short - if you want to just get drunk no point staying in Malaysia, I'd spend some time on the Islands in Thailand, then hit chang mai, get a slow boat to Laos and go tubbing, then bangkok.

It's pretty ambition to want to hit Cambodia and Vietnam as well, its possible but you'll be spending a lot of time on a bus and at check points and you'll end up buying 30 quid visas for 5-7 day visit.

Top tip is dont buy any tour trips especially in Bangkok.
