True story:

I had two vouchers for $35 which I won in the 3DRealms caption competition which they ran on their forums. I decided to keep them so that I could one day buy Duke Nukem Forever when it came out. Then, the company folded, and eventually the project was taken over by Gearbox.

I emailed gearbox, and asked if they would honour the vouchers. They said they would be delighted to. So, I posted off my vouchers, and waited patiently. Waiting patiently came easy. I'd already been waiting for the game for about 12 years.

Well, my copy never arrived. And given the reviews, I consider that a blessing.

just paid over 22 euros last week.
Great game . Some people just do not understand it took 12 years!!!
looks slightly dated also it took 3 years alone just to do the final bits and pieces .

Was it worth waiting 12 years ?
maybe Buy it or at least rent it and make up you own darn mind .
I think it is one great game a bit flawed and dated but overall a good game.
Game reviewers of today do not understand the epic failure that was this games development or take it into account .:(

............ Lets just hope half life 3 will be better......:eek:.....

Just because it took twelve years to make does not make it a good game. I bought nearly all the old duke nukems when i was younger. I bought the new Duke Nukem for the PS3 and it was an insult to the franchise. It was rubbish. Zavvi and the Thehut are selling it now for xBox and PS3 for around €10 Delivered (8GBP) and it was for sale during the Amazon Black Friday deals for £5. Even at £5 I wouldnt advise people buy it. Its RUBBISH.

Download the demo and play it before you waste 5 Dollars.

I picked it up through Steam yesterday.

Be damned to the reviews, if I find it entertaining, well, €5 well spent. If I don't, well, it's a €5. I was probably going to spend it on drugs, or hookers anyway.
