Hi im asking on behalf of my mother, she had a pay as you go meter installed, she has a mynute boiler and since the prepay meter went in the heating only comes on when it decides, she can turn it on and nothing could happen for an hour then it starts to heat the rads or it might come on straight away but turns itself off again or else nothing at all.

she is very ill and cant walk around, I tried to see if I could do anything but I don't have a clue.

I rang bord gais today and they said they could send someone out but it would cost €90 for the first 30mins and then another €25 for every 15mins after that. Just wondering if it can be fixed cheaper as she really doesn't have the money for it. (she lives in west cork if that helps)

Did you Check the boiler controls/programmer/thermostats are set correctly. If the boiler is coming on but been delayed could be the programmer set incorrectly. What part of west cork are you in.I have lads covering the city however I may know someone beside your mother. I can pass on their details.
Not a great position for your mother to be in .not been well and heating not functioning correctly.

I know a lad he is leap Co. Cork. His name is Michael (an english gentleman). If you want I can pass you on his number. You can call him get a quote and explain situation.

I would hazzard a guess its something to do with the boiler controls.Has your mother got the boiler on constant all stats turned up and controls on boiler set correctly. The heat stat is not set to low.I have one lad on in the city center. He does not usually go outside the city. His fee is 90 euro for the call out but includes 30 mins labour. If that helps also

You rang the wrong boad gais too. You should ring networks. Tell them the story and they will check the correct operation of the meter.
