Yet another grant question.

i've viewed lots of threads but none quite ask what i want to know.

basically i applied for the grant to my local VEC on the last day of applications this year (august 30th i think). i got the letter back today anyway and it says i got awarded "25% Non Adjacent - €xyz".

Currently i'm only doing a one year level 5 PLC.

the figure i got was perfect for this year, it covered my course fees and most of my materials.

    Questions :P

    - is the full amount i get figure "xyz" or is that 25% of it?
    - if the above is not the case then to what does the "25%" refer to?
    - is the final figure you are offered proportionate to the course you do?

    - i have applied for the CAO to move on to an I.T. doing a level 7 in september, points dependent of course. if i re-apply to a more expensive course, am i likely to get more grant funding? or is that not how it works? this year my level 5 (course and materials) has only cost in the reigion of 1000 euro because i can live at home and commute to it. but if i were to go to an I.T. i would need around 2000 to cover course fees alone before accomodation etc and to be honest i'm a little concerned.

    any help would be great!

We don't know what XYZ is!

    Standard rate—

    non adjacent is 780
    adjacent is 315

it's means tested so unless your means go down then it won't really change

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

apologies, wasn't sure if i should post real figures for what odds it makes.

    it was 25% Non Adjacent - €755

so its likely if i'm to apply again next year when/ if i get offered my level 7 i will only get offered the same figure again?

as i'm sure you know, that will go nowhere really :(

Yes you will get offfered roughly the same again unless your income or your parents income goes down
