Using Ubuntu 11.1 to reset windows xp admin password

I see this guide but they are using Ubuntu 10.10 to do the guide so it has me confused. I cant seem to follow this simple guide as I dont know enough about Ubuntu. I have never used Ubuntu before and navigating this OS is alien to me. Could someone help me with this, I feel like a right idiot for even asking! :o
