A318 Captain HD Cam #2

There's no doubt but that captain has a flair for making a good video. But I'm wondering what his employers think of him conducting a 'leisure pursuit' when he is at work. And you can bet if he was ever involved in an accident or incident the authorities would be quite critical or his 'sideline' (they would certainly question his attention to the job at hand).

That flight attendant is smoking hot.

    Your argument failz. :pac:

Camera in the Flightdeck? Investigators wet dream I would think.

Don't see how him filming is distracting him in anyway, in fact I would go as far to say it would make him more careful.

When he is taking off/landing the camera is just mounted to the window or whatever. I don't see how it would in any way distract him. If it was a hand held camera it would be a different story.

I picked my nose when driving once please dont tell my boss of my leisure pursuit

as stated above the camera would make him more alert as to what he was doing and i'm sure him being a captain knows whats good and bad and wouldnt be silly enough to leave it in the video

This could also be a viral advertisement for the airline he works for ...

some serious stick movements there. Is this how they work on big planes?
Just curious as im comparing with small plane, you`d a loop if you pulled this stick so hard

    cheers

Low level turbulence probably. Check out the dot on PFD, it's dancing like crazy. The idea is to keep that in the middle. Hence the workout. Even in a smaller aircraft on a turbulent day you can be busy.

Swept wing aircraft are more unstable in the low speed range than straight wing aircraft.

Hence the stick movements, which in this case are quite low in fact. It can be a whole lot more!

I'm sure that if he has the camera there all day he probably forgets about it while he is flying the aircraft. Footage like this could be very useful as part of a cadetship/recruitment ad campaign.

In fairness to him they're great videos, he's taking over from Balleka as my favourite video guy on youtube.

For those who haven't seen any of Balleka's work, search for "belly of the beast" or "african skies" and enjoy the view!

If it's the section at about 3:40 that you mean then the dot thats dancing like crazy is actually the crosshairs which represent the position of the sidestick which appear when the aircraft flight control laws are in ground mode (the radalt indicates the aircraft is on the ground) . So the crosshairs dancing is directly proportional to the sidestick deflection.
Looking at the wind vector on the ND indicates almost a direct crosswind so there's probably a bit of turbulence, a bit of getting the aircraft to settle on the runway while yawing the aircraft straight down the runway, etc, etc.
