Acer TravelMate 8371G Very Faint Image

    Hi guys i have an Acer Travelmate 8371G laptop out of warrenty since september last year turned it on this morning and can hardly make out the image on screen. but i can see a very faint windows desktop image so i know the lcd is working.

    does it sound like the inverter has gone?

    if so can anyone point me in the right direction to pick one up or somewhere that wont fleece me for fitting one.

    need it done asap for college, am based in portlaoise, but can travel anywhere on sat to get it fixed.
