Usually about a week up to 2 from the moment previous owner sends a registration certificate to shannon.

For me, about two months ago, it was 5 working days from posting it, I was shocked how quickly it came.

Anyone reckon its something to worry about? This is my first car so i don't know whats going on pacman.gifpacman.gifpacman.gifpacman.gifpacman.gif There are only three previous owners though so i suppose that helps my piece of mind a little :)

Have you asked the person who sold it to you if they sent it off yet? I would try that first.

From this it looks like someone bought this car on 14/8/2011 but logbook with change of ownership page filled in was send only in december.
However it's really irrelevant for you, as you said you bought it last week...
Did you fill in the change of ownership page on the logbook with previous owner?
Was the logbook on his name?
Did he said he will send it?

Yep was in his name filled it in and he said would send it off. I'll ring him in the morning and find out when he posted it ;)

Tell him you got a parking ticket at the weekend and you're just checking to make sure that he sent the cert. away to Shannon so that he doesn't get the reminder to pay the fine, that should get him moving.

It should be in your name now. You should have the cert by the end of the week.

always a good idea to take a pre-addressed envelpoe and stamp with you and to go with the seller to the post box to post the VRC off together.
