Probably cost you less to buy a heap of crap and use Google. Bit more hands on too. :)

I did a course in car maintenance a few years back. It was one of those adult education evening courses...absolute load of rubbish. Yer man (who I presume was a perfectly competent mechanic) didn't delve too much into things. He mainly focused on the 'get you home' scenario. He didn't even cover the practical stuff like changing oil etc.

I did one in cork 2 years ago.
It was decent enough for the money. He covered doing a full service. Changing brake discs/pads and suspension.

I did one in Cork too, Douglas Comm, awful. I'm sure there are decent ones but there are also shít ones and it's often hard to tell one from the other.

just get yourself a hynes manual or something similar and go from there, when doing work use a good set of tools and ease into it.

I now sevice all the cars in my household that are out of warranty, just learnt from doing it, basic servicing and parts fitting (i.e. brake discs) is a doddle once you have good tools
