Does a P60 come from Government or Employer?

I requested a p60 from my employer, who said they would be doing them up for all employees mid january.

I need to follow up but want to get my facts straight first.

Does my employer provide my info (pay, tax etc) to the governemnt who issue a P60 or does it come directly from my employer?

As its your employer who pays you and not Revenue the P60 comes from your employer who has until mid February to provide it to you. Revenue has no idea of your pay/tax/prsi/usc until your employer files their end of year P35. This usually done at same time that the employer provides P60's to their employees.
