75 Year Old Widow with Private Healthcare & Medical Card

    Please can someone let me know whether it is worthwhile for a 75 Year Old widow with a Medical Card and also paying for Private Healthcare with Quinn Healthcare?

    My mother is recently over a fight with bowel cancer and is faced with renewing her private healthcare, however she has a medical card.

    My question is would she still receive treatment if she had the cancer return?

    Is she better off to renew with Quinn?

    Any help in clarifying the pros and cons in this area appreciated.

    That decision is one only your mother can make.The public health care system works,its effectiveness is not something that we will be discussing here.
