'08 Ford Focus Radio Quality

    Noticed that the built in radio is very poor on this model. A lot of channels are very fuzzy. this wasn't the case for my previous car.
    Just got this car recently and this is really annoying me.

    I noticed there is an AUX port in the glove compartment for hooking up an MP3 player. Only issues with this is obviously changing tracks is only controlled on the player itself, not through the stereo.

    Can anyone let me know if i can swap out this built-in radio for my own radio which has an mp3 player. should this improve the quality of radio broadcast or this this related to the arial etc..

    Or if anyone has a better suggestion i'd be glad to hear.
