To swap or not to swap that is the question

Right, the story is this
I have an 04 Fiesta Steel, 59k miles perfect nick, FSH, never caused me an ounce of trouble in the years i've had her, lovely car only problem is with a baby a bigger boot is needed

My mother has an 04 Focus (basic model) 78k miles, FSH, perfect nick, never caused any problem, grand car but she wants something smaller

The plan was to sell the Focus and get her something smaller
But my plan was to sell the Fiesta and get me something slightly bigger & the Focus does have the boot size I'd need for buggy & shopping etc etc

On the other hand, baby is 12 months now and i've survived the first 12 months with the fiesta and by the time she's 2 we probably won't need the bigger buggy anymore so do I really need to change at all??


Can't decide whether I should swap cars with my mother or not

Mileage isn't really a factor cos I'd be doing less than 10k a year miles
The focus is a bigger car & more comfortable to drive for my OH who is over 6ft but he'd rarely enough need to drive my car anyway....


Thoughts anyone....

I'd swap given the circumstances. Much as I dont like base moðel focuss.

Put it this way, if either of you had to trade in your car for the other, you'd both be spending money.
