On the pricey side I would think?

What would you think would be a fair price for it?

To be fair, it's a uk elegance model from a main dealer.

I would think a little over €5,000 but not too terribly much over that figure. Granted, it is a pretty well spec'd 05 Octavia as Colm _mcm points out, mileage is relatively low for a 05' diesel and it does have a full skoda service history...for all that I would pay a bit of a premium but not over the odds either...perhaps €5,500 max pending an inspection of the car obviously

I like the idea of the full service history, would give me extra peace of mind

Fair point big_drive but the question is how much of a premium would you pay for it? For me it certainly wouldn't be in excess of €2k, not when I feel the car is worth closer to €5k mark.

If I got that car for €6,500 id probably go for it

A 2005 Octavia can be bought for £2,800 in the UK. No way is it worth €4,000 more when imported.

A mate of mine has a 2005 Octy with 400,000km and it running like a clock.

To be fair though were not comparing like with like if it was £2,800 GBP your mate paid for the 2005 Octavia with 400k km on the clock. Regardless of how well its running you are comparing a car with 400k km to one with considerably less than half the mileage on it. Personally I feel that the Octavia the OP has linked to is worth in or around €5k, on paper anyway, certainly not €7,900.

You need to read posts more carefully.

My mate has put over 350,000 km on his car. Where did I say he bought it in the UK?

Ok, ok point taken, I misinterpreted your post. I don't think a blanket statement that any 2005 Octavia imported from the UK is worth no more than €4,000 when imported is hardly fair though....if I read that one correctly:)
