Currently building my own pedalboard and I've scoured Navan for the stuff but it's nowhere to be seen. Would I have better luck in Dublinia?

I'm afraid you'll need a licence to get that stuff.

Really? It's freely available to purchase online, alas they won't ship to Ireland.

    Woodies.

Yep, Woodies sell the stuff, you can either get it in thick strips or thin strips, the way I used it was two vertical strips on the pedal, and two horizontal strips on the board top and bottom.

Otherwise the larger ones an be too strong, and you almost need a screwdriver to pry your pedals off the board.

And should I stick on a continuous strip along the length of the board or should I section them to suit the individual pedals.

Ideally, I'd like to have strips so I can reposition all the pedals but my Dad assures me that the sections where there's no pedal resting will lose their adhesive qualities.

Yeah along the whole length of the board. I had my board for around a year with the thin strips of 3M an it never lost the adhesive.

I had some that I got in Hickey's on Henry Street, the glue on the back of the velcro wouldn't stick to the bottoms of the pedals too well, so I got some superglue to stick the velcro on, and that ended up falling off too. The velcro is plenty strong, just not the glue. I want to try that 3M stuff. Any other suggestions though? :pac:

Woodies/B&Q etc. are a rip off.. €40 for 2.5m of Heavy Duty Velcro.. 80 quid for the 5m i needed
(Velcro on Amazon won't ship to Ireland)

I purchased 5m on eBay for £11 (plus about £4 shipping)

Edit - This is for the wide 50mm strips

To give you n idea of the strength of the stuff you can buy in B&Q, for a challenge for the youth group I run I put a 3 inch strip of each onto two blocks of wood of the same length and then asked any of the teens to seperate them with their hands. Impossible! I had to prise them apart with a screwdriver.
With my rack modules that I stick to a slifing rack tray, I use a square about 1inch by 1 inch on the corners and it is not going anywhere.
Really versatile stuff - i am sure pedals will stick with small coin sized patches of velcro so you won't need too much of it unless you are planning to coat the board with the hook stuff and then spot tack pedals on to it with dots of hook material on the base of the pedals.
