I see nothing great looking about it to be honest, not that the real thing will look anything like that. VW wouldn't permit it.

    I like it! :)

Jaysus, even more Octavia loving. It's pretty old and puts me off this whole forum. I have news for some of ye, jokes about the boot aren't funny and there are far better cars out there for similar money. OK, it's a reasonably reliable, inoffensive looking econobox that should be fairly good on the juice, and be painless enough to own but come on this is supposed to be a motor enthusiast's forum not the latest edition of 'Motoring for Pensioners' Monthly'.

Lighten up, you don't have to comment if you don't want to. Few thousand pages of other threads that might be better suited to you.

I don't think the replacement is going to look anything like that. And tbh, I think it looks a bit odd from the back.

Aren't they pushing the next Octavia up a size class and fitting in a focus sized car in its place?

Or did I just imagine that

Supposedly the Felicia names coming back.

    :D
I think the real enthusiasts are over on Octane. Enthusiasts buy Elises and hot hatches and old M3s and/or have bits of dismantled car in their garages. They might put up with an old 'shed' for day-to-day and have something fun for the weekends. I have a cousin that fits into that category although with age he's moved from motorbikes to cars and now it's campervans:pac:

I'd have grudging respect for the Superb but Octavia - even in VRS format - is a taxi-man's car and very, very ordinary both inside and out (as well as being old). Something like the new Hyundai i40 is far more desirable IMO.

In fairness though the rendering posted by the OP looks really handsome and if I needed the space a Superb estate would be pretty much top of my list

Doesn't look real to me anyway, those wheels are straight off the 3.6FSi Superb

As well, looking at the article, that mock up of a skoda 4x4 is definitely fake, its just kind of mutation of the Audi Q5

    You are correct.
Octavia is going up a size and the "Mission L" is going to slot between the Octy and the Fabia. As EPM said. Apparently it will be called the Felicia

Felicia vRS may not be a bad yoke either.. :P

    Mission L

Wherever did or does it say "Motoring enthusiast" forum?
Different ball game altogether than a Motors forum

That looks good but I fear they will move away from their competitive pricing strategy

Not according to their 5 year plan

They've done that already. The only models that offer real value are higher spec superbs and the vrs.

Don't agree with that at all. The bangeromics session allows for a bit of budget dreaming for example.. To say this is not an enthusiasts forum is not accurate. So if I have a moan about all the feckin' Skoda boot jokes that just aren't funny and Octavias in general I think I may speak for many. We could be talking about how the likes of Cosworth Granadas and similar like on another thread going on now. Far more interesting.

    No,
It is a Motors forum. It even says so.
If YOU or anyone else want to be enthusiastic about a certain area then so be it. That changes nothing.
