just wondering how useful are these scanners that connect with the car to show stored fault codes? Are they really for trying to diagnose a problem that you may be experiencing with a car, or can they also be useful for preventative maintenance? I undestand that some cars may drive perfect but may have some codes stored, and just wondering if the codes should be looked at quickly? Suppose it depends on what code is stored? just looking for general comments on these, thanks
