Unable to remove read-only status on certain folders

    Title says about everything.

I've a few gigs of various stuff on an external, podcasts mainly and some music.

Never had any problems before, but tonight went to load some stuff onto the ipod and it wouldn't drag and drop. Looked about a bit and found that the folders in question were all read-only and iTunes can't/won't put them on the pod.

Go to properties, click click, try again, no dice. Check properties and the folder is still read-only.

Now, I know there's probably some way to do it via the registry, but me and the registry don't get on too well when I go tinkering in it...

    Any alternative?

sounds like you need to "take ownership" of those files before it will allow you to change the read only status.

you may need to log onto your pc as adminstrator to do this.
