i recently bought a 2004 diesel avensis. i find it struggles below 2000 rpm and if i put down the accelerator peddle below 2000rpm it shakes violently, like being in an earthquake. also my fuel economy seems to be very low. im struggling to get 40mpg out of it and im driving like a grany to get that mpg. 75% of my driving is on open road so im not starting and stopping constantly. i have spoke to 2 friends of mine with avensis's and they dont seem to have the same problems. just wondering if anybody else out there has encountered a similar problem. also changed fuel filter 2 weeks ago so not that.

Could be injectors, turbo or EGR valve, all of which can be problematic in this generation Avensis.
