does anyone know how long you get roi or uk mobile coverage for on the ferry on both sides when going from dublin / holyhead?

do you know if there is a roaming network on board?

ive looked through their website but can only see mention of wifi.

    thanks

I have used my mobile before while on the ferry to France and it cost me a flat rate of €45 for each call I made - I only made two but was so horrified when the bill came!!!

if you get free wifi then that is probably the best route to take rather than expensive mobile rates

edit: sorry just realised you weren't needing info on the ferry to France!!! my bad!

You get coverage the whole time except for every now and again when the signal drops. The provider when you are out to see is Maritime something or other.

You will lose signal before you get out of sight of Ireland and you will not get it again until long after you first see Wales.

You will be able to pick up the Maritime network but I believe it is very expensive. You get free wifi on Stenaline and they have much nicer boats and staff in my opinion. You have to pay for wifi on Irish Ferries or you did. Might have changed very recently.
