Give ronan at cooper.ie an email he should sort you out there,
sound lad, sorted me out with replacement foam and the studs for the back of a helmet when I was wearing my old helmet (sk100 made in canada)

And to the op on the faceguard I'm afraid your going to have to cough up for the faceguard :)
Bought a sk109 myself and was in the same position just bought one on donedeal for €50 - faceguard should be arriving monday or tuesday.

I'd go for the thurles guard if I was you.
I got my kilkenny guard and it was an extreamly tight fit on the helmet.
I had to stretch it out a bit to get it to fit right.

The thurles guard I had with my old helmet was a good bit bigger and would have fit the cooper sk109 alot better

Bloody impossible....The only reason I had one before is I bought the helmet with it.
kk guards are easily available the guy who makes them advertises them on donedeal.

The guy for thurles guards dosent advertise anywhere and theres no reference to him or a phone number anywhere on the internet.

If you cant get any info for thurles guards you could contact gerry cleere and specify than you want the kk guard to be made slightly bigger to fit the sk109 helmet.

Why tamper with a guard that is covered by insurance for an inferior guard. A lot of the injuries players are receiving are because of the poor guards. Hurleys go thru the kk guards easier than the approved guards.

Better vision. Gerry Cleere guards are of the same quality if not better... certainly not inferior.

Speak to the mycro lads and u will see the majority of injuries are received with non-compliant guards. If Cleeres guard is so great then why is it not allowed on mycro, Marc, cooper , azzurri helmets by the safety standards?

o be honest i'd rather risk lose my eye than wear a mycro guard. Christ they are bad. Can't see anything that is directly in front of them. I don't see the problem with Cleeres guards that makes them that much less safe than mycro guards

A hurley is not going to go through a cleere guard nor is a sliotar.
My cleere guard has saved me from quiet a few nasty knocks this season.
So its by no means inferior to other guards,
If it didn't do the job its designed for in the first place why would people keep buying them ?

The only flaw I find with the is that they sit a little too close to the face this improves vision but I'd rather a little bit more distance.

A man named Martin Doyle makes the thurles guard I think

Anyone know where a Thurles Guard might be sourced? Seem very hard to get a hold of and with your man Gerry Cleere packed up shop tis tough enough to get a proper faceguard... Or even a kilkenny faceguard, if anyone knows of any going
