    Hi,

I hope someone can give me a little advice,

I don't know how I hadn't realised this earlier but I was working full time and got put down to Part time in September. I'm now working 2 1/2 days a week with an outcome of about 170- 180 a week net.

I understand that I can claim Jobseekers Benefit and recieve some of the allowance, But, would It be possible to back track the benefit for the last 5 months as I havn't claimed since the start????

Hope you can help, Never had to claim for anything in my life!

It's not possible to claim for monies you haven't claimed for. You will only get back payments from the date you open a claim. For example, you open a claim on the 1st Feb but your claim only comes through a month later. You'll get paid for the previous four weeks less three days. (Why less three days, I haven't the foggiest.

The three day thing is because you get those three days given to you when you sign off the dole, it keeps you covered while you wait for your first week of wage when you're employed again.

But yeah, you'll only get money from when you claim.
