Samsung Galaxy S2. Had Anti Droid Theft, but the phone is off.

You may have provided a secondary email address when setting up the google account. Go to google account and click sign in. From there follow the links for forgotten information.
    (if you haven't already tried)

Got into my gmail, the Plan B downloaded. But I haven't got any email? I cancelled my SIM and have a new one if that makes a difference.

I lost my X8 SE Ray on Friday but I'm 99% certain it's on a bus and it's a local bus company. It's still ringing out which makes me think I might have a better chance than Gavin of getting mine back. I tried Plan B but nothing to my email. My phone wasn't connected to the 'net so I'm gonna guess that's why as I can't think how it would download the app without having a connection.

If you canceled the sim the phone won't go online anymore. If the guy replaces the sim it won't be associated with your google account. All these phone finder apps are useless coz thief can just do a factory reset anyway.

You reported the phone stolen I assume? Not just replaced sim... Cancel the phone so the scum won't be able to use it. Unfortunately they can still be used outside Ireland I believe.

My galaxy S II phone was stolen 2 months ago. I installed plan b and haven't got an e-mail since. it has no number as I got the 4s and the number changed to the 4s. Can I still find the phone. All I had installed was mobile lookout. I reckon the Galaxy S II is gone or can it still be found? Sorry about the really late post

Yup I reported it yesterday to the Guards.

Bit late if your phone is already gone, but I use Cerebrus. If your device is rooted you can prevent it being uninstalled (short of flashing another ROM), and it'll work even with a different SIM card in the phone.

Just wondering, if the phone is modded will Plan B still work if it's turned on?

And a bit of a random question, but Guards can't track a phone using the IMEI or anything? Haven't a few contacts just wondering before I waste my time asking.

The guards could probably track a phone in a murder case. Not in a lost phone case. The GPS lock isn't pinpoint accurate anyway... they would likely narrow it down to a 100meter radius... not good enough to kick doors down.

They won't bother getting warrants etc trying to find your lost phone, no matter how good your "contacts".

I reported mine to the guards as well

Well at least you are not the only one. Lost my lovely Desire S on Fri night in a taxi while set on silent. HTCSense "make it ring" didn't work. Finder hung up Sat (why did they even bother answering?) and then it went to voicemail. So accepted the inevitable, cancelled the SIM and my network provider locked the phone.

Reported the IMEI to the guards, but I don't hold any hope. How come the randomer in the taxi wasn't decent enough to return it? Jayzus, I would go to the ends of the earth if I found someone's phone.

Got a less than satisfactory Wildfire S from carphone as a replacment and I have to drop into my providers store to have them register the new IMEI. Carphone guy on Henry St Dublin said he had 7 people into him with the same story over the weekend instead of the usual 2.

I hate that! At least make an attempt at finding a "home" or "house" contact while it was working and ring it. It's common decency.

Found my phone. It was on the bus alright, hidden down by the heater. It was on silent so ringing it didn't alert anyone to its presence. I'm one of the lucky ones I guess...

    Good for you.

    Also consider the "ICE" contact.

Just put the Lookout app on my new phone. Works a treat. Wish I'd had that on the old one, but was depending on HTC sense. They let me down.

Was hopefully my several good deeds of finding peoples wallets and driving licenses over the last year would have came good for me, obviously not.:(

Got another S2 today, can you install more than one of these tracking apps? If so I need some recommendations please! :D

You have to remember here that at a guess at least 80% of smartphones have a lock on them of sorts, be in pin or swipe or facial or w/e. A taxi driver isnt going to try break in past that and for ICE its not much use to first responders if they cant get at it. Also its a pain in the hole having the aul fella listed as ICE in all his messages :p
