Anyone know how to access any full articles on pubmed? When I go through the TCD library it only ever lets me see the abstract...
    Thanks

Pubmed only provides citations. You will need to check the citations against the Library catalogue to see if we hold a subscription - paper or online - to the relevant journal.

Look it up on Jstor/ science direct?

I never fully understood pubmed tbh. I think I missed that part at orientation.

Try using PubMed Central - it is an archive of freely available articles. Regular PubMed is just a directory that tells you where to find articles and you can only access them if Trinity has ponied up the dough (or if the publisher has made them free).

Ok thanks, so if a lecturer gives you a list of research papers to read I presume they must be available in hard copy form in the library or something?

Try using Google to search for the title of the papers. There's usually a link to a PDF copy of the paper in question.

Check out google scholar through the Library's database page. That'll tell you immediately whether the Library has an online subscription to the relevant article. If that comes up with nothing then don't forget to double-check against the catalogue - there may be a subscription to the hard copy.

get the PMID code of the article (should see it when you see the abstract)
Then search it through the tcd library website by entering the PMID code - (i presume ye have some sort of e-journal portal with free access for students)

Usually in the PubMed abstract there is a link in the top-right corner to the publisher's website. If that link doesn't work, enter the journal name into the 'Journal Titles' search field on tcd.ie/library
