    Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you could help me out with this query.

My Dad is a pensioner and in great health etc but at the moment he's struggling to make ends meet. He currently drives a little Daewoo Matiz which it might not be possible to keep due to the amount of work it needs to pass the NCT.

Anyway I'm wondering are there any other options out there that I could look at for him (hes currently thinking of an electric bike but he'd really need a car) even if it's only a step up from a motorbike in car form...just something with more than 2 wheels and a roof that doesn't cost the earth to run (or buy!).

I've said new or 2nd hand but it's probably more likely to be 2nd hand as we'd be lucky if we could raise more than 1-2k between all of us (Dad and us) to buy the car.

Anyway guys I know this is probably a long shot but I'm just looking at possible directions we could go in...and I'd really appreciate any pointers you could give us!

    Thanks
    C

Wouldn't have said you could get much cheaper than a Matiz to be honest.

How much does it cost to fix the Matiz? Spending €1-2k on another car gives you no guarantee that that car will be trouble free.

Can vouch for a 1.25 Fiesta. Great car, very reliable and great on petrol
