Do BikeRegister.ie have a Warning Sticker for putting on your bike as a possible deterrent to a thieves?
Can't see anything on the website.........but wouldn't it make sense to have one?

Had been thinking the same thing, but then thought,
    A. Would it actually have a deterrent effect on the scum?
    B. Would it just make them more likely to make your bike unrecognisable, ie. destroy it?

I don't know if bikeregister.ie do, bikeshepherd.org do them. I've got one on my racer, I think they work as a deterrent in that it's telling a potential thief that the bike is traceable so hopefully makes it less desirable. On the other hand, I suppose it raises the stakes as a thief might decide to render the bike unrecognisable if it does get stolen...

I think you're crediting scum with too much intelligence. like the ability to read, say, or evaluate risk, or tell right from wrong

Maybe, I mainly place my faith in big hardened steel locks ;) The sticker is just a nice little extra.

I'm signing up for the Garda registration scheme in Donnybrook as well, every little helps...

It would probably only serve as a reminder to erase the serial number.
