    FYI:

Vox Pop: How Dartford Powered the British Beat Boom
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b017zwq8

Iain Lee discovers how Vox, a small music-equipment manufacturer based in Dartford, Kent, helped the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Shadows define the sound of the 1960s with its amplifiers. The comedian tells the company's story, hearing from musicians Brian May and Bruce Welch, along with some of the staff who worked at the Vox factory at the time.

Thanks for the heads up! BBC4 is usually pretty good for music docs on a Friday night.

Was a good show, and nice to know a bit more about the company.

Only problem with it was it reminded me how much I've always wanted an AC30. :pac:

Wish they'd spent just half a minute more with that Guitar magazine editor A/B/C'ing a Fender, Marshall & AC30. The few silly lines he played from the AC30 didn't tell much.

Used a AC30 daily during 4 months music course few years ago - couldn't tame it all, AC15 might be easier to get along with though still quite a bulky 12" 15W.

I felt it was a bit short, but it was still good.

Always had a hankering for an AC30, almost had my hands on one for 300 quid a while back, then realised it weighs 90lbs and I'd have to lug it up and down a good few flight of stairs

My God Tom Jennings was complete idiot!
This was a good show and it's nice to see that the technical info was properly researched. No mention of Class A as the AC30 is Class AB and the correct assessment of the negative feedback loop.

I quite enjoyed that documentary. Kind of makes me want to pick up an AC15 after watching it! I played through an AC30 a few times and liked it though I did find it to be a touch treble heavy. Also I thought Rory Gallagher would have gotten a mention, he's one of the first people that springs to mind when I think of vox.
