    Well I have UPC the 50mbs package, 4 GB of ram but I use only 2, I can run 10 slots no probs. It's all mostly about internet here and ram.

    The boards one runs on an Athlon II X2 with 2GB of RAM. Dunno what the internet speed on it is though.

    more plugins = higher cpu load and more ram used. connection wise rule of thumb is .25mbs per player and 100MB ram per slot though if you have bukkit setup correctly and all your plugins playing nicely with each other ie. no mem leaks then ram usage tends to be a bit lower. map size also plays a big part in it. for example if 2 players are in the same area then they are using the same chunks, that means half the ram required to service them.
