Anyone know the dose of Tranylcypromine needed to fully inhibit MAO-a in the human/primate brain?

Your question has been bugging me.... Apparently Tranylcypromine irreversibly binds to MAO-a. You could anwser it that way... find out how many MAO-a molecules are in the brain!

What do you mean by "fully inhibit"?

I've had a look around for toxicity data on Tranylcypromine (Parnate). Best I can come up with is an LD50 of 30-50 mg/kg in mice and rats. See link http://datasheets.scbt.com/sc-200572.pdf

I can't find any primate data. Hope this helps.
