    Hi Boardsters.

Need little help here with explaining connections on tvs, and to be exact when connecting that tv to a desktop computer.

So for example I am looking at a tv like this one , in it's specs it says "PC Input" but I simply have no idea what that means... Does that mean it has standart VGA/DMI connection? And what about sound? Clearly sound will not be going through VGA so what do I need for that?

Thanks in advance to whomever will reply =)

Does your computer have a HDMI port? If so all you need is a HDMI lead to connect it to the tv.

DON'T buy an expensive one,the cheap ones from a €2 shop do exactly the same job as the crazy money ones.

You can get VGA leads to connect to the tv but will need separate audio leads, again can be picked up for peanuts.

Also available are VGA to HDMI convertors, check ebay for best prices.

The tv has all available connections so don't worry about not being able to connect your pc to it.

This is the TV I went with.

Yes I do have HDMI, not in the gfx card but in the motherboard. But nothing came up. We double checked that HDMI wire with an xbox, it worked and with my roommate's laptop, it also worked. So What could be the problem here? Should I just get a converter? Converter

If you have a video card it will prevent the internal graphics from working, you'll need to get a new video card with HDMI or a DVI->HDMI converter for your video card to sort it!

Couldnt find anything and I've played around with settings also nothing. TV just says "No Signal. Check connected device's power, cale connection and source selection"

You need to go into the screen resolution options on the computer, sometimes it needs to be changed manually otherwise it 'won't know' that you're trying to send a signal to an external display ie. your tv.

So just play around with different resolutions and it should come up? Because my pc is not seeing / recognizing tv. But Ill try anyway, Ill write back.

Just plugged my laptop to the TV and it worked first time. My TV has different selections in the settings,TV 1,TV2,hdmi,hdmi slide etc, It works from the hdmi slide option on mine.

I've tried every single resolution there is, nothing works. Tv just keeps showing me same msg... To be honest, there is no help needed here anymore 'cause I've ordered the converter, but I am just curious, usually win 7 is so simple with things like this but I am clueless :S
