Just wondering what would the cost be for a set of original VW alloys for a '08 golf?

Or what other brands would be a good look/alternative

Look on adverts, theres a few sets for sale at the moment. From a dealer you're talking big money so second hand is the way to go. Often they come with tyres too.

The PCD is 5x112 on your car, and use an offset (ET) calculator (just google one) and it will tell you if they will fit compared to your current wheels.

Great thanks. What would it cost off a dealer, not going down that road but curious?

Probably in the region of €150-€200 per alloy (without tyre!), from a main dealer. This is a guesstimate, based on knowing that genuine GTI 18" alloys are closer to €550 each!

If you wanted to spend money on wheels and tyres alloywheels.ie are doing BBS VZ033s, similar to what was on the edition 30 GTI for around €730 at the moment and they really suit the Golf. There was a deal with cheap tyres for around €1k from memory.
